Boyd Boyd was born with limb loss. He is missing both arms above the elbow and one leg above the knee. You would think that missing 3 limbs would prevent you from living a full life, but not for Boyd. His parents treated him like any other child. He worked at the house, fed and dressed himself just like any other kid. During his younger years, Boyd competed in the roping circuit and traveled all over the United States. Even now he can throw a lasso while riding his horse! With the care that he has received from Artificial Limb Specialists, he has been able to work as the head superintendent for the Paridise Valley School System. His job was physically demanding and because of that we carried many spare components should he ever need something repaired. He has recently retired after 20 years. Retirement for Boyd meant taking another job with a private landscaping firm! For Boyd the most important part of his prosthetic care was the service that he received. Because of his complex amputation levels, he need to be sure that he worked with someone who would be able to make him comfortable and as functional as he could possibly be. Randy Whiteside has extensive experience in complex upper extremity applications. His skills have helped Boyd live a full and exciting life. |
