Upper Extremity
Only 6 percent of the amputee population have upper extremity involvement. Because of this, the number of
clinicians that have the expertise in this area is very small. Many clinicians go their entire career
without working with a single upper extremity amputee.
Our clinicians have extensive experience in upper extremity applications. They have been trained by all
leading manufacturers of upper extremity components, and are proficient in advanced socket interface designs and complex fittings.
Body Powered/Conventional
These prosthetic devices utilized body motion to operate either the elbow or terminal device (hook or hand).
All levels of amputation from trans-radial (below elbow), trans-humeral (above elbow) and shoulder disarticulation (through shoulder)
External Power/Myo-electric
These prosthetic devices rely on a battery source to power the prosthesis. Myo-electric
devices utilize muscle signals to control the hook, hand, wrist or elbow. We have many upper
extremity patients and therefore stock replacement parts for emergencies.
